I hold a Medicine and a Dentistry Degree, a MsC in Oral Pathobiology and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Athens, Greece. My clinical practise currently focuses in maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, management of benign tumours of the maxillofacial region, oral surgery, implant surgery and oral medicine. I have experience in head and neck cancer and free tissue transfer reconstructive techniques and I am highly interested in further specializing in this field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. My research interests lie in the prevention and management of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. In the year 2010 I received the European Association of Oral Medicine Young Clinician/Scientist Award in the 10th Biennial Conference of the European Association of Oral Medicine in London, United Kingdom. In the year 2015 I completed my PhD thesis with title “In-vivo analysis of the effects of cyclooxygenase inhibitors in an oral carcinogenesis model” in the medical school of the University of Athens Greece. Currently, I am participating in a clinical research project concerning microRNA expression in oral epithelial dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma.
My research interests lie in the prevention and management of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma.

Dr. Sandro Siervo is a maxillofacial surgeon working at the Istituto Stomatologico Italiano in Milan where he serves salso as Scientific Director, he is a member of the board of the leading italian Dental Journal Il Dentista Moderno of which he is director every third year. Before joining Istituto Stomatologico Italiano he worked at the University of Basel where he conducted reearch with european and overseas universities. He published articles in high impact factor Journals, e.g. The Journal of Experimental Medicine and books, the latest in 2006. Siervo started his teaching and scientific journey from obtaining a medical degree at the University of Milan, a PhD in Immunology form the Universities of Basel and Genova, a maxillofacial degree from the University of Milan. He has been involved in teaching at the University of Basel, at the University of Pisa and at the University of Bonn. Dr Siervo is an ITI Fellow, an active reviewer and editor, he supervises 12 PhD Candidates per year and is open to scientific and funding collaborations.
My research interests are in preprosthetic surgery, in suturing techniques and in reconstructive procedures.

Biography: I was born in Erzurum, Turkey, in 1976. I graduated from Atatürk University in 1998. I completed my Ph.D. in Atatürk University in 2003. I have been a member of the European Federation of Periodontology since 2003. I have fulfilled several studies on “Periodontology, Periodontal Surgery, Laser therapy and Dentistry” in and out of Turkey, having had some articles published in the eminent journals in field of Dentistry, particularly in field of Periodontology, and having attended several conferences in and out of Turkey. I have taken place in the Board of the Faculty of Dentistry in Atatürk University several times. I am maintaining some studies on Periodontology at the moment.

Biography: I am the former dean of faculty of dentistry and currently a professor of prosthodontics and dental education at Jordan University of Science and Technology. I am mostly engaged in postgraduate teaching and clinical training, though I do contribute to undergraduate teaching and training. My research interests include aesthetic dentistry, implantology, occlusion, biomaterials, and dental education. I am also involved in policy making in dentistry in Jordan and one of the founders for the accreditation standards for dental schools. My activities cover a wide range of academic and administrative aspects.

Biography: I am Changyu Zheng, a staff scientist in the Molecular Physiology and Therapeutics Branch of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), NIH in Bethesda, Maryland. I obtained my M.D. in1983, and a MS in radiopathology in1986 from Norman Bethune University of Medical Sciences, Changchun, China. In 1995, I obtained my PhD degree in molecular biology from the University of Saskatchewan, Canada. I then spent more than 4 years as a postdoctoral research fellow at NIDCR before becoming a staff scientist in 2000. I conduct daily laboratory-based studies on basic biology/physiology of salivary glands, prevention of radiation-induced salivary gland damage, gene transfer to salivary glands, viral vector modification and improving viral vectors for gene transfer.
