I hold a Medicine and a Dentistry Degree, a MsC in Oral Pathobiology and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Athens, Greece. My clinical practise currently focuses in maxillofacial trauma, orthognathic surgery, management of benign tumours of the maxillofacial region, oral surgery, implant surgery and oral medicine. I have experience in head and neck cancer and free tissue transfer reconstructive techniques and I am highly interested in further specializing in this field of oral and maxillofacial surgery. My research interests lie in the prevention and management of Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma. In the year 2010 I received the European Association of Oral Medicine Young Clinician/Scientist Award in the 10th Biennial Conference of the European Association of Oral Medicine in London, United Kingdom. In the year 2015 I completed my PhD thesis with title “In-vivo analysis of the effects of cyclooxygenase inhibitors in an oral carcinogenesis model” in the medical school of the University of Athens Greece. Currently, I am participating in a clinical research project concerning microRNA expression in oral epithelial dysplasia and oral squamous cell carcinoma.
