Ireceived myM.S.and Ph.D. degree from Cancer Research Institute, XiangyaMedical College(now part of Central South University) in Pathophysiology/Cancer Biology in 1994and 2006, respectively. Iaccepted myvisiting scholarship at the NIHfrom 1997 to 1999. Icompleted mypostdoctoral training at Wayne State University and Ohio State University between 2001 and 2005and became a faculty member ofthe Translational Research Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston in2010. I joined Hunan Normal University Medical College in 2012 and am currently full professor of the Departments of Pathology and Pathophysiology.
Myresearch interests focus on the molecular mechanisms of cancer metastasis and the experimental therapeutics targeting cancer stem cells. I amone of the originators of the new discovery that post-translational modifications of non-histone proteinsplay a critical role in cancer metastasisand drug-induced cellular stress. I have beenthe recipient of 3 research grants from the Natural Science Foundation of China(NSFC)and multiplegrants from other funding agencies. I havepublished more than 60 peer-reviewed papersincluding first-author and/or corresponding-author articles/reviews in Blood, Clinical Cancer Research, Cancer Treatment Reviews, ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces, International Journal of Cancer,European Journal of Cancer, andOncotarget, etc. I am now editorial board member of several international peer-reviewed journals and serve asreviewers for the Natural Science Foundation of China and many domestic and international prestigious journals
