I have over 12 years of experience in computational biology, focused on studying the effects of smoking on the human lung. I have established biologic and clinical biomarkers based on lung function, serum microparticles and OMICS technology to identify early smoking-related abnormalities in the human lung that can lead to the early detection of, or the prevention of, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), an incurable lung disease, currently the 3rd leading cause of death in the United States. I graduated with PhD in Oncology from University Paris-Sud, Paris, France, specializing in The Effects of Waterpipe Smoking on the Human Lung.
