Cloning, expression and purification of recombinant plant proteins. Experimental and bioinformatic studies on protein function, structure, folding/refolding of intrinsically disordered proteins and their roles in controlling plant development/growth, host-pathogen interactions. Using molecular biology, immuno-assays, biophysical methods (2D NMR, CD, and X-ray diffraction), plasmon surface resonance and yeast-two and three hybrid assays, to investigate the molecular basis of plant development (DELLA proteins and GA signalling) and plant disease-resistance (plant guarding hypothesis). The major research specialities include molecular biology, biophysics, protein biochemistry, protein chromatography and bioinformatics.
