Dr. Hamed Ziaeipoor is a research associate in Biomedical Engineering at Medical Device Research Institute (MDRI), Flinders University, South Australia. He has over 10 years of experience in the field of Computational Biomechanics. He has received his Master degree from Mechanical department of Isfahan University of Technology, Iran. Dr. Ziaeipoor has recently developed and used different surrogate modelling techniques for estimating femoral strain during daily activities for single and multiple patients. The outcome of his research would be beneficial for various biomechanical applications, such as studying bone adaptation; diagnosing individuals most at risk of femoral fracture; and optimizing the biomechanical behaviour of implantable devices.
Research interests: Finite element analysis; Numerical assessment of hip and knee implants; Musculoskeletal modelling using Opensim; Motion capture system; Surrogate modelling techniques; Strain prediction; Statistical shape modelling.
