The focus of my research work has been on applying the concept of basic immunology to translational work, specifically on the biology of immune cell activation and regulation, and translation to strategies for design of therapeutic modalities and vaccines for cancer, and pathogens that cause cancer (Sci Rep. 2016 Feb 18; 6: 212-40; Sci Rep. 2016 Apr 26;6:25133; Immunol Res. 2015 62(3): 325-40). I have been also working on various aspects of generating high affinity antibodies for therapeutic and diagnostic purpose. I have raised various monoclonal antibody against various pathogens which were tested positive in-vitro for sero-conversion and protective antibodies for possible human use (Mol. Immunol 2015 Dec;68:185-93; BMC Biotechnology 2012 Nov 15;12 :87; Vaccine 2009, 27, 2356–2366). I have been also involved to understand early genetic manipulation involved in initiation and progression of human cancers with major focus on breast, colorectal and pancreatic cancer (Nature 2014 Aug7;512(7512):82-6). Currently as a faculty in PGIMER, Chandigarh, I am contributing majorly on teaching and mentoring post graduate student and working towards exploring role of non coding RNAs and miRNAs on immunity and cancer.
